Investing in Commodities
Investing in commodities can be easy or difficult. Commodities are things that are from the Earth such as oil, gas, metals, coffee, orange juice and wheat among many others. They are also known as natural resources. Commodities are in short supply since the world is demanding more and more especially those countries considered emerging markets. The demand for these natural resources as a result of global growth will have an impact on our future. Just look at what is happening now. Countries like Brazil, Russia, India and China (known as BRIC countries) are consuming large quantities of these resources especially oil. However, the entire world is in need of these natural resources as well since the population continues to increase. The demand is there, but not the supply. The market has been bullish on natural resources for quite some time and I expect it to remain in an upward trend as a result for years to come. Global conflicts add to the problem such the war in Iraq and the Middle East and unrest in countries like Africa. I believe and many others agree that it's a great idea to invest in natural resources. You should have a good percentage of your portfolio invested in it. You may be asking how I can invest in this booming market. One can invest in companies that are directly involved in the commodity sector. For instance in agriculture one can invest in Deere and Co. or Archer Daniels Midland. In the energy sector one can invest in an oil service company, like Schlumberger, Transocean or BP (British Petroleum). First, you must do some research before you take the plunge. These types of companies are profiting now and will also in the future. As the world markets continue to grow and mature so will these global power players. They are the best of the best and one should invest accordingly. Buy companies when the market sells off because these are long term investments. Don’t look for short term gains. Do not get discouraged if your stock falls, just listen to the news and how the demand for commodities will continue to grow. Investing in commodities is a good way to make great money. Listed below is a breakdown of other types of natural resources, let's examine each of them in more detail. There are many more and I will add to this page in the near future so please come back and visit our site for more information as it becomes available. I also plan on taping a few videos to explain a bit more about this important market and how investing in commodities will give you more money in your bank account. Then again be wary of banks these days since so many are going bust.
