Investing in Gold
Investing in gold is a way to protect your self from various market conditions especially during times of uncertainty. Everyone should have a little gold in a diversified portfolio. The last few years have seen gold shoot up nicely providing some huge gains for investors. Although prices have gone up, one should never keep gold and silver from your portfolio. When the stock market is down and the economy is looking bleak, investors need to park their money somewhere and why not in gold. The current real estate market in the United States and throughout the world has not helped matters. People want to make sure that they have some type of safety and gold provides it hands down. Gold goes back many centuries and throughout the age’s people have used the yellow metal to trade, buy and barter good and services. There is currently a huge demand for gold because of emerging markets such as China and India. The biggest mining companies in the world are not able to extract the precious metal fast enough to meet the demand. Even if you decided to invest in gold and silver, please do your research. There are many gold and silver companies that have seen their stock climb and then drop in a matter of days. Visit good online resources such as msn money and cnn money to do your research. However, I have listed a few companies here that you can further research. They are the best in the world, but there are others. Alcoa, (AA)Newmont Mining, (NMC)American Century Global Gold, (BGEIX) You can always purchase gold and silver coins along other interesting metal investments. An easy way to invest is to visit my favorite company The Vanguard Group, which has a Precious Metal and Mining Fund. This may be a good long-term investment choice. However, I would not invest all my money into the fund perhaps 10% in a well diversified portfolio. You can also visit www.golddealer.com to learn more. All the best and keep learning but start investing.
